My research on Japanese Roadblocks in Burma. Roadblock Battles on the Retreat from Burma and Bishenpur, Potsangbam and Ningthoukhong – Gurkhas on the Imphal Plain 1944 convinced me I needed some raised road features for Burma. I designed the raised roads, S&A Scenics made them for me. and now I’ve painted and flocked them.
From the box
An exciting box arrived from Simon at S&A Scenics. I couldn’t help ripping it open immediately.
And setting up a few pieces for a quick snap.
Painted and unflocked
The box arrived at 16.30 hours my by 20.00 hours they were painted (although unflocked) and ready to play in my Ningthoukhong Experiment .
Painted and flocked
A couple of days later i got around to flocking the banks of the raised roads.
These photos don’t do the raised roads justice, so I set up one of my 4’x2′ Wargaming Boards and plonked the new raised roads and some of my Burmese terrain. I also used the recently painted British Trucks for the 14th Army in Burma.
Looking great!. Playing Western Europe scenarios and need some roads and other scenics items. On features, what is your minimum size?
