This section lists the type so non-player characters that can be encountered in Legends of Al-Andalus. See Legends of Araby for any details omitted here.

Reputation

In converting the reputation values from Legends of Araby I used this table:

Assassin

See Legends of Araby p. 49.

Assassin is Rep 4, N, Sword. Male (1-5) or Female (6).

Player interrupts the assassin on the job (1-4) or off the job (5-6).

On the job means a Raid with assassin as attacker and player defending target. Successfully defending leads to a +2d6 for the player when Talk the Talk with the target.

Off the job means Talk the Talk with Assassin. See Legends of Araby for outcomes.

Qadi

The “Qadi” replaces the “Cadi” in Legends of Araby p. 62.

Qadi is Rep 5, N, improved weapon. The Qadi’s guards are Rep 4, N/LSh, Spear, Sword.

The Qadi represents the Emir in the Fort. As the governor he is the judicial and administrative authority in the mountains. He is also the tax collector which is why he takes a strong interest in the Caravans that pass through. He lives in the Alcazar of the Fort.

Favourable Will offer to rend you a dwelling in the Fort for 2 x your Rep in AP in the first month and your Rep in AP per month thereafter.  If you accept this is a Hideout.  If you decline he will try to arrest the player for disturbing the peace.
Indifferent Ignores player
Ask a Favour Wants the player to move along.  if decline will become belligerent.
Belligerent Will try to arrest the player for disturbing the peace.
