Here is my first company of the Soviet Airborne Forces or VDV (Vozdushno-desantnye voyska SSSR) for WW2. They are for Crossfire and Deep Battle.
1st Rifle Company

Painting Guide
The full painting guide is in 15mm Wargaming figures for WW2 Soviet Paratroopers. This is what I went for:
Generally the Soviet paratroopers wore normal Soviet uniforms but there were some common deviations.
Peaked Service Caps: Retained, particularly by NCOs and officers, as a visible distinction to other troops.. These had dark blue crowns with light blue piping, light blue bands, and a black peak.
Side Caps: Side cap was the fall back headgear. I’ve gone for the distinctive dark blue with light blue piping.
Camouflage: I went for MKK style of camo as it was the first and longest lasting camouflage scheme; this had large reddish-brown amoeba shapes on a light green or khaki background.
Tunics: The HMG teams are in tunics and breeches, perhaps some others. Khaki with light blue collar patches piped black or gold. Officers had light blue piping on tunic collars and cuffs.
Breeches: Khaki. Officers wore blue breeches with a light blue seam.
Unit ID
I have used Battalion Code = “V” for the Soviet Airborne Forces. First Company is “V-1”.
Figures
I wrote 15mm Wargaming figures for WW2 Soviet Paratroopers when I was planning this mini project. I ended up using figures from Flames of War SU707 Soviet Scout Platoon and Peter Pig – WW2 – Russian Scouts and Political officers with peaked caps.
Soviet Partizans
And as a bonus some Partizans.
